Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong!

by Plastic Surgery Prices on October 18, 2010

When you consider plastic surgery, deep inside you want to change something about yourself, to make your life better or easier, or both.
So, you gather the money and look for that plastic surgeon who is going to make that dream come true, but what happens when that dream transforms into an ultimate nightmare!  You need to ask yourself: when has a plastic surgery gone wrong before committing to anything!?

So, if you are considering any kind of cosmetic surgery, you must acknowledge first there are some risks involved in the process and these consequences can be catastrophic, permanent or even fatal.
Some plastic surgeons will not tell you exactly what could happen, but as in every surgery, there is a chance of failure.
Let’s have some concrete examples on the subject where we see plastic surgery gone wrong.

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong No.1 – Creepy Breast ImplantsPlastic Surgery Gone Wrong - Breast Implants

Not every woman responds the same way to breast augmentation, there are plenty of horror stories going around about the girl with the third breast, or the one who’s implant leaks or looks awfully strange.
The success depends on many factors, like tissue, shape, size and the way every individual body reacts to implants.
Did they just pick a bad surgeon for the sake of money?  Not always!  Even Hollywood stars spend millions on these procedures and still sometimes they just go wrong.

Be careful on this one, as your face is something you cannot hide easily. If something goes wrong, the mirror will remind you every day.
Some of the risks includes, permanent scars, tissue damage, or simply the look of a real monster, so consider the fact before facing the consequences.

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong No.3 – Rhinoplasty Disaster

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong - Rhinoplasty

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong - Rhinoplasty

Because the nose job requires not only a good surgeon, but an artist as well, the combination of both is not always possible and the results can be just devastating physically as well as emotionally, leaving the patient in worst condition than before the incision.
Many complications can occur early postoperative or late postoperative, from infections, bad anesthetic reaction, cartilage permanent damage to simply not obtaining the expected results, there is always a degree of risk in every procedure.

Society demands perfection from people in a world of imperfection and set parameters of beauty. If you feel a cosmetic surgery can boost your self esteem then go for it, as long as you do it for yourself and not just to please what others expect from you.

Always keep in mind of a plastic surgery gone wrong , especially when you are looking at a less experienced or cheaper plastic surgeon.

Well those images are certainly very confronting and confirms that we need to be very certain that we need the procedure before we make that decision.

Hi Leo,

Yes the pictures do make you have some second thoughts!

If you can do your due diligence and follow some of the guidelines I have outlined you can be sure to find the right plastic surgeon and not have this happen to you.

It highlights the need to be careful about choosing a surgeon. I heard on the ‘news” today that plastic surgery reversal is now popular with some movie stars.

Hi Jenny,

It seems that most of the movie stars have this done, it looks like plastic surgeons are going to be busy for awhile!

I like the fact that you referred to the surgeon as an artist! Using that word is really clever as an artist always takes pride in their work as well as needing to have the skills to do the procedure. As technology and procedures are refined I hope the incidences of failure are decreasing and it is great to see that a lot of facelifts nowadays dont look like people have gotten stuck in a wind tunnel :-)

Unfortunately if you are one of these people who have had a procedure which has gone wrong – then it would be hard to have your photo taken as the brave people above have had done….also – would you want to go back to the same surgeon to have it fixed (hopefully for free) ?

Hi Jayne,

You would think if the plastic surgery went wrong that there would be some provision to have the procedure re-done to rectify the fault. This also depends if the surgeon was at fault or your body just had a reaction that did not agree with the surgery.

A picture is certainly worth a thousand words. You are putting your life in the hands of a complete stranger when considering Plastic Surgery. A thorough background check of any potential surgeon would definatly be a good place to start.

Hi David,

This is one of the things you need to get right before anyone touches you. If you find the surgeon has had any plastic surgery gone wrong in their clinic, you may want to rethink and find another plastic surgeon.

Thanks for this article, it reminds us that plastic surgery can go wrong. Here you have demonstrated that people need to be fully informed of the potential risks and make sure that they go to a reputable plastic surgeon. I remember a recent story where a young woman died after having “routine” lipo suction – considered a normally “safe” proceedure. It was an incredibly sad story – a beautiful young lady in her early 20′s who was not happy with her appearance left a greiving young husband and a devestated family behind. After weighing up the pros and cons of plastic surgery – I think I would rather just grow old gracefully!

So bad about what happened on their looks and their body…I’d rather be contented of what I am right now than go to a plastic surgeon and have a bad result of my looks. So, before having such a procedure like that…I would have a thousand think. Always think of the term “Contentment”.

There are two results in a surgery procedure. It could be that your life will be at risk or you will have an effective outcome. Everything lies on the doctor’s hand and as well as your faith to have a good looks. But no matter what happen, be ready to face it. It’s your choice, its your happiness, so be it!

Whatever you do make sure you go and see a professional bra fitter just before AND just after any breast enhancement surgery. They will ensure you have the best fitting post-surgery lingerie that will help minimize scarring and discomfort.

Hi Plastic Surgery Prices, nice website and good posts.
I want mention that someone who wants to implant breasts just because she wants to look better is not recommended. If you want to have a surgery like this you must visit a doctor for consultation, check yourself and make some procedures. You must be confident that you’re healthy and your body is compatible with breast implants.
